The new CPL commissioner Justin Blanchard today announced some major changes in the upcoming $100,000 Counter-Strike tournament at CPL Winter.
Regular Matches

Increase of max rounds from 12 to 15

Decrease round time from 2:30 to 1:45

Increase freeze time between rounds from 10 seconds to 15 seconds

Overtime Matches

Increase start money from $800 to $10,000

Increase freeze time from 15 seconds to 20 seconds

bezze sto je promijenjen roundtime ....sve je ostalo ok!

da nazalost startmoney ce biti 10k a roundtime ce se smanjiti sa 2.5 na 1.45 razlog po meni vezze zasto to ne razumem








... ovo je negde vec uvedeno

ako nisi skonto startmoney je 800 ali ako budu produzetci onada je 10.000$ ... fala bogu da su nesto pametno uradili ... rountime 1.45 gotiva znaci samo rashace

Some of the most noticeable changes are the following :
3.00b Online registration is required to compete in the $100,000 Counter-Strike Tournament. Registration must be completed in advance to the tournament, on or before November 15, 2004, or while spots are available. Players who register on-site who have not registered online by December 1, 2004 are only eligible to be an event spectator.

The CPL is changing its policies with regard to registration. No new teams will be allowed to register after November 15th (a full month before the event) and no players will be able to add themselves to a team roster after December 1 (a full 2 weeks before the event). There will be no exceptions to this rule. Last minute roster changes, while accommodated in events past, will not be allowed, and no replacement players will be permitted on-site.

3.10c No team or roster changes will be accepted at the event.

Again, while CPL had allowed last minute substitutions in the past, there will be absolutely no players added to a roster at the event. If a team is short a player, it will not compete.

4.00a The $100,000 Counter-Strike Tournament will consist of a maximum of 64 pre-registered teams.

The CPL originally opened registration for this tournament with 128 Counter-Strike teams with 16 spots reserved for autoberth teams. This has now changed to 64 teams with 8 autoberths.

4.10d Team members may communicate verbally if they have not been eliminated in the game or if all team members have not been eliminated. When a player has been eliminated, he or she must not speak after his death. This is identified as the point when the screen has gone fully to fade-to-black. Any team who speaks after the screen has faded to black will be issued one warning. A second offense will result in forfeiture of the match.

Before, rule 4.10d specified that a player could not speak after reaching zero health, meaning they could not speak while dying and the screen was fading. This change allows speaking until the screen has fully faded to black. Note that the rules specify that only one warning will be given, and further offenses will result in forfeiture of the match. This was not specified before.


9.00k Any competitor or team accidentally utilizing ANY exploit or bug in a map or game will forfeit that round and all remaining rounds for the half. Players need to be responsible for their actions in regards to know map or game bugs/exploits.

Teams will now be expected to take responsibility for even *accidental* use of an exploit. Disputes over the use of an exploit, whether intentional or accidental, are time-consuming and delay the tournament schedule, making this standardized response necessary.
