Hello BL-forum! Kind regards from Austria! Presumably, I will go to and stay in BL from automn. Unfortunately, I don't speak Serbian at the moment, so please forgive me asking in English. Since I have no clue about what's going on in BL, I have a few questions about staying and living in BL. - First of all, language: I do feel that it's important to speak the domestic language when you intend to stay somewhere for an extended period. Are there Serbian language schools or courses? Also, I would be interested in a language-exchange buddy; my native language is German, but I'm also quite fluent in English. - Living: Up to now, I shared an appartement with colleagues from university. Is it common to do it like that in BL, and how and where would it be easiest to find something? - Free time: At the moment, I play football in a hobby-team in Vienna (we're meeting once a week for training and also participate in a league, playing real matches once a week). I would also love to continue playing football in BL, so which teams or clubs come to your mind where I could easily join? - I read about the BL university. Are there also some foreigners there? Where and when are the best 'going out' events going on? As you see, I'm really not too informed yet, but hope to get some feedback. Also, I would be more than happy could you share any further information with me, which I might not have been aware about up to now. Looking forward to hearing from you! Best |

What is the reason for your visit ? I guess its for few weeks/months ? Regarding first question, i think that there are schools where you could learn serbian language, most probably same language schools that offer german language for us serbians, and most probably those will be private lessons which are kinda expensive, so its better to find some Serbian interested in german language and who speeks english also, which you call language-exchange buddy. -Sharing appartement with colleagues is common here too, price is around 75euro per month(i think). The easiest way to find place like this would be ads in local newspapers or if you have friend here, you can ask him to see with some other students before automn because end of august is time when ppl are looking for roommates and rooms for next school year. -There are a few football clubs but they are more "proffesional" then casual clubs where everyone can join, on other hand you can alwayse come to playground and just join people in game, i know that when we are playing football/basketball, we are alwayse missing one person.. -Yes, there are foreigners here. ALso there are lot of clubs here, but if you plan on going out, you need to start listening to our music :) |

Hi Frenki, thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! I will go to BL because of business purposes, and my stay will last for presumably two years. Well, I`m interested in learning German, and I speak decent English. Maybe we can get in touch when you get here. Also, some of forum members are from Vienna, so you can ask them for some more advice. Look for Valentin Inzko,he lives in Sarajevo..he is austrian too. ASk him to give you some serbian lessons ,he is quite good. |

Je li ovo onaj momak što je jednom došao na forumski fudbal? Odmah ga bagra balkanska skršila, mislim da je nedavno langetu skinuo

Tako je, to ja sam bio. Bio je loše, achilova tetiva bio je pokvaren. Bio je dobro start u Banjaluci, moj treči dan. Ali sada sam bolje takođe, vidimo se tamo drugi put

Yes I'm still around here and enjoying what I was prepared to (mainly pljeskavica and beautiful girls and also some things I had no clue about (starting with homebrew rakija to diving with BUK). I met a few cool guys already, but until I'm finally on football again I would nevertheless always be open for another drink somewhere
