Gothic 4 je zvanično najavljen The Name Genesis - This name does not mean a complete restart of the Gothic series! Rather it means that something has changed. This is how the new developer, Spellbound, explained it. After JoWooD and Piranha Bytes split on the 22 of May 2007, the search for a new developer started and this search ended on the 23 of August when Spellbound was announced as the new developer for the next Gothic game. Piranha Bytes is the developer of Gothic 1, 2 and 3. JoWooD is the publisher of the Gothic series. The Team Spellbound has its headquarters in Kehl am Rhein, a city close to the french border, which is located in Baden-Württemberg, a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. Spellbound has always had a history of being a French-German developer. With the French city of Strasburg being right across the river Rhein opposite to Kehl, the company could always employ people from both countries with both their individual and cultural backgrounds. It is that cultural diversity which the company believes has always proven to be advantageous for game development. The company employs 24 firm coworkers, comming from Germany, France, South Africa and Russia, as well as approximately 30 freelancers [a freelancer or freelance worker is a person who pursues a profession without a long-term commitment to any one employer]. Some coworkers of Spellbound, under Jochen Hamma, the project leader, worked at Attic Entertainment Software and were in the project called Northlandtriolgy (Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny, Realms of Arkania: Star Trail and Realms of Arkania: Shadows over Riva), a series of computer role-playing games based upon the popular German pen & paper role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge (The Dark Eye). The Game Engine: * It is believe the Trinigy Vision Engine will be used in the development of Gothic 4: Genesis. The Vision Engine is one of the industry's most advanced technologies for professional game development and has proven its versatility and reliability in more than 60 commercial game productions all over the world. [click the link to see more games that where made with this Engine http://www.trinigy.net/index.php?id=20 ] Story: * The graphics of the game and the music are expected to come close to the ones Gothic 3 had and be up to date and competitive on the market when released. * Characters, story and dialogues will be Gothic 2 oriented. * Jochen Hamma says that dividing the story into chapters might be the best solution, for example for changing graphical elements in the gameworld. Use of chapters again is therefore most likely. * Gothic 4: Genesis will not be a prequel [a sequel to a film, play, or piece of fiction whose events precede those portrayed in the original work] to Gothic 1. Game world: * Rough characters, a play world in the european setting and as fans expect, a world to give you the feeling of Gothic! RolePlaying Elements: * Certain aspects of the game's roles mechanics, for example the skill system, are going to look much alike Gothic 3 ones, which are supposed to be considerably improved. * Exploration and discovery are two of the most important basic principles of the Gothic series, these elements will get proper attention with Gothic 4: Genesis. * The game will be visually convincing, it will have a dark atmosphere and feeling, the landscape and music will be in connection with an interesting narrative style and the character development will be typical for a RPG, which will recompence the player on its discovery journey. Interface: * As for the interface, especially for combat, it will not be exactly as in Gothic 1, 2 or 3. However, for the fans we will make an interface that feels like it, one who has played for example Gothic 3 should easily find out how the new interface works, according to Jochen Hamma. Combat system: * Here Spellbound plans large changes. The combat system of Gothic 4: Genesis should promote more self initiative and be more dynamic. Community Both developer Spellbound and publisher JoWood plan active community support over the entire development of the game. Thus there are plans to offer regular question times as well as to have a generally increased forum activity. The feedback collected will have a substantial influence on the development of the game. Beyond that, selected community members will be invited in certain periods to try the game in order to collect direct criticism and improvement suggestions. Jochen Hamma, the project leader, spoke about such a meeting in the middle of 2008. Release Date There is no release date for Gothic 4: Genesis, it is however certainly that the game will appear first on PC, later in addition, on consoles. I da neće biti neoptimizovana kao Gothic 3 koji nije mogao čestito da se igra na računarima koji su bili aktuelni kad je izašao, tek kasnije se mogao igrati kada je jači hardver poništio neoptimizovanost. Još uvijek nisam igao Gothic 3 upravo iz ovih razloga, ne može da radi kod mene kako treba. Čitao sam neke komentare ranije i kažu da je kao igra sasvim dobar, kad se zanemare bugovi i neoptimizovanost. Nadam se da je to tačno. Što se tiče bugova zadnji patch je community patch 1.5 od 25 MB koji je izašao prije mjesec dana i koji se instalira nakon oficijelog patcha 1.12 pa se nadam da je sa tim dosta bolje što se tiče bugova, a neoptimizovanost se pokriva novim hardverom i nadam se da bi sa svim tim Gothic 3 trebao biti sasvim dobar. Što se tiče Gothica 4 radi ga drugi tim a tu uvijek postoji pitanje da li će moći nastaviti onaj duh koji je Gothic serijal imao. |

Na to sam i mislio, ta neoptimizovanost ... Bez obzira kako jak racunar imas igra ce da steka i stuca non stop svakih 10 sec ... Nisam je ni ja odigrao, a bukvalno sam je cekao godinu i pol ![]() |

...otisli smo offtopic, ali eto i ja da napomenem da mi je jako zao sto sam morao da uninstalliram gothic 3 jer nisam mogao normalno da igram...cekam za koju godinu da kupim novi PC hehe ![]() |

Neko mi je juče na drugom forumu rekao da Gothic 3 radi osjetno bolje sa najnovijim patchom 1.5, znači ne samo što se tiče bugova već i što se tiče optimizovanost. Ako neko ima instaliran Gothic 3 neka proba pa neka nam javi. |

Naziv je iz Genesis promjenjen u Gothic 4: Arcania Story set 10 years after the third title and located on various southern islands, each having different climate zones and its own flora & fauna. Same as in previous titles, there'll be a hidden place (temporarily blocked by a magical shield/barrier). Weather changes, full day and night cycle plus the ability to temporarily cast a spell and change the time of day (e.g. from day to night when you need to slip past guards unnoticed). Aside few NPCs from the previous title, some monsters will have a fresh look (however, trolls look the same as in Gothic III). With the ability to climb and ride on beasts. Aiming for continuity, developers have gone through fan wishes on the forums and are planning on integrating some of them. Fully DirectX 10 compatible with advanced shader technology: standing under a tree, not only light will be realistically dimmed, but looking up into the sky, you'll see the sun behind partially transparent leaves. Demo Gothica 4 krajem septembra Osim najave demo verzije, internetski dućani započeli s predbilježbama za Gothic 4 uz pogodnosti Serijal Gothic pamtimo po dobrim idejama, no realizacija je uvijek kaskala za konkurencijom. Nadamo se da će ArcaniA: Gothic 4 ispraviti ovakav slijed događaja, a to ćemo moći provjeriti već 24. septembra kada nas prema vijestima DreamCatcher Gamesa i JoWooD Entertainmenta očekuje demo verzija. Spomenuta će sadržavati prva dva sata igre i početak tutoriala na otoku Feshyr gdje nas očekuje niz odabranih zadataka. Usporedo s ovom objavom, JoWooD eShop, GamersGate i Impulse su počeli s predbilježbama na igru uz 15 posto popusta, dok istu stvar možete napraviti i na Steamu gdje uz četvrti nastavak dobivate i Gothic 3 besplatno. |

Iako je trebao izaći sutra Gothic 4 Demo je izašao danas (mnogi možda ne bi izdržali sa čekanjem još jedan dan ![]() Prešao sam ga za dva sata. Pošto je u pitanju RPG teško da se nešto može reći nakon samo dva sata jer se ne može vidjeti ništa od priče, grananja radnje, svijeta (kako njegove veličine tako i kompleksnosti, raznovrsnosti, interesantnosti), razvoja lika. Što se tiče grafike ona je dosta lijepa, ovo selo na početku izgleda lijepo, na obali mora, tu je i vodopad. Dio demoa se igra u pećini, ni ona ne izgleda loše. Igra koristi hardversku fiziku (novi PhysX se instalira sa igrom) i kod mene sa svim na max i na 1920x1200 fps uglavnom ide između 20 i 30, ali se nije osjetilo trzanje iako je ovo framerate koji je na granici nekakve normalne igrivosti, ali ide fino. Inventar je dobar, quest book takođe (mada vidjećemo kad se nakupi dosta questova). Pojednostavljeno je loot-ovanje kada se žele pokupiti svi itemi. Pečenje mesa (do kojeg se dođe ubijanjem životinja) se može obaviti bilo kad, u inventaru, što je dosta pojednostavljeno u odnosu na prave Gothic igre (koje je radila Piranha Bytes) gdje si morao doći do ognjišta ili logorske vatre da bi nešto ispekao, što je i logičnije. Borba je klasično klikanje, valjda, bar zasad, možda će se razvojem lika i sticanjem novih vještina pojaviti i konkretniji aspekti borbe. Luk se mrda dosta pa je teško pogoditi ![]() Vrlo brzo se dobijaju magijske moći (kroz upotrebu skrolova) i tu odmah je quest koji te tjera da ih koristiš (uvježbavaš), kombinacija magije i lupanja protivnika mačem izgleda sasvim dobro. U demou se bori sa vukovima, goblinima, kosturima, nekim zombi-paladinima, minecrowlerima i sa još par nekih crowlera u pećinama. Ubio sam dve ovce, slučajno, na samom početku kada sam testirao kako zamahuje štapom ![]() ![]() Tu su opet biljke koje se beru i koje će se koristiti za iscjeljivanje i drugo. Što se tiče oružja tu su pored štapa i sjekira i par mačeva, uz luk sam imao i samostrel, za njih sam imao obične strele i boltove ali i neke enhanced, par vrsta oklopa, nekoliko štitova, jedna runa, par magijskih ogrlica, sve u svemu puno toga, ne znam da li je to samo u demou jer se za ovakav arsenal inače mora dosta pomučiti. Za svaki level se dobiju 3 skill poena koji se po volji raspoređuju na mele borbu, ranged borbu, magije i drugo. I da, na kraju sam uočio jedan zanimljiv detalj koji vjerovatno nije trebao da se nađe u demu, u quest book-u je za riješen quest pisalo o stvarima kojih nema u demu a koji se vjerovatno odnose na riješen glavni quest u igri: "You defeated Xesha and returned the goddess's shield to its rightful place. The fate of Mankind will take a turn for the better. You saved Rhobar III and the world." Tako da znamo da ćemo u igri morati pobijediti Xesha i vratiti neki boginjin štit tamo gdje treba, kao i spasiti nas nekadašnje tj. Rhobara trećeg ![]() |

Gothic 4 dobiva ekspanziju Početkom iduće godine trebala bi se pojaviti ArcaniA - Fall of Setarrif koja donosi desetak sati novih avantura u svijetu Gothica 4 DreamCatcher Games, Spellbound Entertainment i JoWooD Group su najavili ArcaniA - Fall of Setarrif, novi dodatak za nedavno objavljeni RPG ArcaniA – Gothic 4. U službenom se priopćenju navodi kako će u ovom akcijski nakrcanom dodatku naš bezimeni junak nastaviti svoje putovanje i susresti se s novim protivnicima, dobiti pristup novim predmetima i istraživati nova područja. Po prvi put u serijalu, igrači će imati mogućnost iskusiti priču iz druge perspektive i zaigrati s drugim likovima, a za one koji misle da je njihov odabranik iz originala ipak nezamjenjiv, moći će ga importirati i nastaviti igrati s njime. ArcaniA - Fall of Setarrif bi trebao donijeti dodatnih desetak sati igrivosti, a ako sve prođe prema planu, mogli bismo ga zaigrati već početkom iduće godine. |
